The Akashi White Oak Blended whisky stands as the brand’s standard bearer and head of the line, an easy-going blend at a very approachable price point. Eigashima Distillery, right on Osaka Bay, was actually the first distillery to be licensed in Japan, and has a long history of producing sake, shochu, and umeshu. Accordingly, this flagship whisky is actually finished in shochu casks, alongside bourbon and sherry. The Akashi blend consists of lightly peated malt barley with wheat and rye, presenting a light and easy body and a pleasantly citrusy profile.
