Found North Release Party (past)

Found North represents some of the best of long-aged whisky blending alive in North America today. Founders Nick and Zach Taylor are increasingly renowned and respected for their single batch releases that highlight the richly complex profiles attainable in blending very old Canadian grain distillates.

We here at BayTowne Wine & Spirits had the unique opportunity to meet with Nick and choose an exclusive blend, a chance afforded only to select stores who have supported the zero-additive, non-chill filtered, high proof ethos Found North holds to in creating their beautifully blended whiskies. Our blend is constituted of two whiskies, both of the same starting blend, but one of which was then matured in new American oak casks and the other in ex-apple brandy barrels. It pulls intriguing apple notes from the brandy barrels, and caramel and vanilla from the new American oak, all on a foundation of warm baking spices — particularly cinnamon — from the base whisky itself.

Accordingly, our select blend is especially redolent of warm apple pie. It’s a profile we’ll be celebrating with slices of apple pie and warm cider at this release party for the pick. Come join us for the perfect holiday season whisky celebration!
