PM Spirits Holiday Tasting (past)
PM Spirits. If you’ve ever attended a class at BayTowne Wine & Spirits, the name likely rings a bell and stands as a mark of excitement and quality. Nathan, their representative, has led seminars here numerous times before, both solo and in partnership with our spirits specialist Lucas. He is a wealth of knowledge and his enthusiasm and passion are truly catching for everyone there. This time, he and Lucas will be working together to present an eclectic lineup of exciting holiday party and gifting ideas from the outstanding portfolio of PM Spirits.
We’ll kick things off with Amrut Two Indies Rum, produced by India’s prolific Amrut Distillery. For this expression, Amrut blends their rum distilled in Karnataka, India with a Caribbean blend of rums from Guyana, Jamaica, and Barbados, hence Two Indies. From there we’ll move to whiskey, sampling a delicious French Oak-finished bourbon bottled by Dark Arts Whiskey House. Up next we’ll try something completely different, our single cask of Cognac from Fanny Fougerat. Distilled in 1995 and bottled at cask strength, this complex brandy represents one of our rarest and most uncommon store pick single barrels. Singular in its own way is our store batch pick of mezcal from Cinco Sentidos. A blend of two agave varietals, this presents a flavor profile we agreed can really only be found within the intricacies of agave distillate. To add to this diverse collection, we’ll be tasting another fine product of Mexico, but this one being a single cask of rum from the Cloud Forest region of Oaxaca. Alambique Serrano brings some of the most exciting artisanal batch rum being made today, using hand harvested cane from the mountains and valleys of Oaxaca. Our final stop on this sampling path will be with one of the most respected names in Armagnac, L’Encantada. We’ll be tasting the newest release from their Tattoo Series, a line built from marrying exceptional Armagnacs with carefully selected bourbon barrels for secondary maturation.
