Beautifully rich on the nose: rounded and brimming with dark, rich cherry, cocoa, cola, sweet oak and laced with old tannic funk. On the palate, this cask is viscous, and powerful, it’s oaky and dry. Well aged but certainly not over oaked. Notes of cherry cordial, candied apple, blackberry reduction, caramel and tobacco dance. Long finish, impressively long lived, packed once more with blackberry and tobacco. Just as L’Encantada was Aficionados cask selection, this cask reignites the joy of finding a winner of a dram from their stocks.
